NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2008
 
PAUL MANJARREZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
 
Each year at Newport High School's Senior Awards Night, the Paul Manjarrez Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to at least one Newport Senior who is committed to perpetuating Paul's legacy supporting youth through athletics and education.  The recipient embodies the ideals of teamwork on and off the field, dedication, and community service regardless of academic advantage or financial need.  For 2008, the scholarship is worth $1,000 that will go towards the recipient's pursuit for higher education.  All applicants for this scholarship must:
 
  1. Be enrolled full-time at Newport High School of Bellevue, WA
  2. Maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average
  3. Have participated at Junior Varsity or Varsity Level athletics (golf, swimming, cheer, basketball, wrestling, football, etc.)
  4. Be pursuing or plan to pursue a post-secondary course of study in a vocational or degreed program at an accredited institution
  5. Be enrolled at an accredited institution within a year from date of NHS graduation
